Boys' Lacrosse Caps Off Successful Season with SENE Championship!
May 31, 2005

The Ravens drew in the largest Abbey crowd of the season as they took on the Hyde School.  The game got off to a slow start as the Ravens and Wolfpack traded possessions and finished the 1st quarter deadlocked at 1-1.  Long-stick defenseman John Bay'05 fueled the Raven's transition game, and midfielders Lawrence Nardi '06 and Chris O'Reilly '07 played tough between the lines to help the Raven's gain a 3-2 halftime advantage.  The Ravens came out of the break strong and dominated play to start the half.  The Raven's depth and discipline showed as Hyde spent a significant time playing a man down in the second half. All-American attackman Bennett Albertson '05 and Brendan Kinnane '05 were stars on offence for the Abbey, while goalie Steve Hess '05 and defenseman Myles Sommerville '05 helped hold the Wolfpack to four goals.  The final score was 10-5 and a good indication that the program is heading in the right direction.

Boys' Lacrosse concluded one of their most successful campaigns by capturing their first SENE title. The Ravens complied a 13-4 record this season with a victory over St. George's and tight matches with Tabor and Exeter.

The Portsmouth Abbey School Boys' Lacrosse Team, as well as the Girls' Lacrosse team, is ranked number one in Rhode Island.
