Reception in Westport, MA
June 27, 2004
Paula and Red Cummings '63 welcomed a gathering of Portsmouth Abbey's
alumni, parents and friends to The Acoaxet Club in Westport, MA on Sunday,
June 27. For the third year the gathering benefited the Westport/Little
Compton Scholarship Fund. Since its inception the event has raised over
$14,000 for the scholarship fund. Red regaled the crowd with Portsmouth
reminisces and Headmaster Jim De Vecchi provided the audience with a very
encouraging report on the 2003-04 academic year. The summer evening and the
splendid location combined to provide a perfect setting to reconnect with
friends, welcome new families to the School community, congratulate recent
graduates, and raise funds for a worthy cause - the education of students at
