The Red Key Society is a group of students who are selected by the Admissions Office and Faculty to represent the school to prospective students and their families. In 2007-08 we are fortunate to have 104 students from the IV, V and VI forms helping us in the Admissions Office. Please check back each week to see a different student's thoughts about Portsmouth Abbey.

What has surprised you about Portsmouth Abbey School?

When I arrived here I was surprised on how friendly everyone was, and how I adapted so quickly. I was not sure if I was going to fit in because I am different. I come from another country, and did not know how others would treat me, but I feel very happy and grateful for having this opportunity.

What is you favorite class and why?

My favorite class is French. Even though I am only starting to learn it, I feel very confident. I love how I can be learning another language and therefore when I finish my Portsmouth Abbey years I will be fluent in two languages.

What advice do you have for a new student?

For new students I advise them to get involved in clubs, new sports, and be yourself. Everyone has a place in the Portsmouth Abbey community, where you feel welcome and comfortable.

How have you changed since attending Portsmouth Abbey School?

Coming to the Portsmouth Abbey has changed me in many ways. At first I was scared to be so far away from home, to have to take a plane to my new school was scary. I have grown more independent. My English level has improved amazingly, as well.
