Portsmouth Abbey's 17,000-square-foot, air-conditioned Squash & Fitness Centerincludes a large fitness room with a mirrored free-weights center, weight machines, cardio equipment, and sound system!It features three sides of exterior glass, offering spectacular views of Narragansett Bay to the west, and rolling countryside and playing fields to the north. It has seven international squash courts, one combination international squash/racquetball court, and comfortable places to relax, read, or just talk. The entire Summer Program Community--faculty and students--can utilize the courts to play competitive squash, recreational racquetball, and wallyball.It is a beautiful space for everyone to gather and improve their overall health and fitness.

Newport's Cliff Walk is a3.5-mile path that begins at Easton's (or First) Beach on Memorial Boulevard and ends at the tip of Bailey's Beach on Bellevue Avenue--a wonderful stroll between the famed Gilded Age Mansions and spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean!Along the way the students can visit The Breakers--perhaps the most famous of Newport's summer "cottages"--and get a sense of the extraordinary life born of the industrial growth of the nation during the late 19th century.
Martha's Vineyard is a short ferry ride and one of the most delightful excursions we take each summer.Students have an opportunity to ride their bikes along the Vineyard Haven-Oak Bluffs-Edgartown Loop or any of the more than 60 miles of well-developed, paved bike paths, swim at South Beach, or simply take the bus into Edgartown for shopping and ice cream.
Boston's Freedom Trail is a 2.5-mile path that begins at Boston Common and ends at the Bunker Hill Monument.Students will not only get a sense of the importance of this period of history for all those interested in freedom, but they will have a chance to savor the food, shopping, and entertainment surrounding Faneuil Hall Market Place!
