Chamber Ensemble
This course tries to communicate the beauty of music through the joy --- and discipline --- of ensemble playing. The students learn how to work together as a single entity in achieving a unified effect and goal. Thus, they also learn that it is through the subordination of one's individuality that, paradoxically, expressive powers can be truly realized. The repertoire (primarily classical) also provides opportunities for practice in sight-reading, solo performance, and improvisational skills. The class performs publicly at various school functions.
