In this course students complete their basic grammar study. The students are able to use the language to truly communicate through classroom discussion and debate. They learn vocabulary for travel, food, shopping, the environment, health and outdoor activities, and are required to use this information in artistic projects and oral presentations. The students also learn about Spanish-speaking cultures in the textbook and in the reader Graded Spanish Reader, which includes poetry, short plays, and authentic stories from all over the Spanish-speaking world. In this course, the students are expected to use only Spanish to write and speak, and will only be provided with Spanish readings and listening passages. The course is conducted entirely in Spanish.
