French 1
Students are introduced to basic vocabulary, French pronunciation, and elementary grammar structure. The majority of the class is conducted in French. Students begin communicating in French from the first class day. As their knowledge base grows, students incorporate vocabulary and grammar in groups of practical scenarios. While practicing the language, students also learn about the people, places, and customs of French-speaking world through cultural reading. Throughout the year, students are evaluated on their written, oral, listening, and reading comprehension ability.
