Political Science (Fall Term)

The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the study of political science. Emphasis is placed upon the basic ideas of political science such as the state, power, democracy, totalitarianism, federalism, and institutional causality. The workings of the American government are given great stress as well as the constant working out and redefining of American liberties by the Supreme Court. By the end of this course, the student should have a good understanding of the workings of government both at home and around the world.
