Precalculus
The topics covered include functions and their graphs (including polynomial, rational, algebraic, trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic functions), analytic geometry, polar coordinates, complex numbers, sequences, series, and limits. In the Spring Term, a teacher may choose to pursue a topic in more depth. Discrete mathematics, mathematical modeling, and an introduction to the derivative and the integral are examples of the topics offered in recent years. The TI-89 continues to be used to enhance and support the student's mathematical understanding.
