Physics (AP)

This is an advanced course in classical mechanics and electromagnetism, designed to prepare students for the C-level AP examination in physics. Mechanics is studied using full 3 dimensional vectors and includes rotational as well as translational motion. Maxwell's Equations in integral form are applied to the study of electromagnetism. A previous physics course is a prerequisite. Calculus is used at a level appropriate for students concurrently taking an introductory calculus course. A student not yet in calculus who is willing to learn the basic principles of calculus may take the Physics course after obtaining approval from both the Mathematics and Science Department Heads.
