Chemistry 1 (Honors)
Chemistry 1 (Honors) is a more rigorous examination of chemical principles than Chemistry 1. Laboratory examples are used to introduce the fundamental chemistry concepts: kinetic molecular theory, thermodynamics, electrochemistry and atomic theory. Laboratory assignments are given at least once a week and students are expected to keep a laboratory notebook and are frequently required to devise lab procedures. As in Chemistry 1, philosophical and historical considerations are dealt with often enough to ensure that the students' perspective may be as broad as possible.
