Art 1
This course is an introduction to studio arts. As design is the discipline underlying all forms of visual experience, the course will emphasize its importance in the exploration of photography, painting, printmaking and ceramics. The student will keep a notebook to record the various processes involved, along with observations and solutions to problems presented. At the end of the year, the student will have a record of his or her progress and the beginnings of a portfolio. This portfolio will be particularly helpful to students wishing to continue work in the visual arts.
