Head, Classics Department - 2009-10 Academic Year
An experienced educator who can teach courses in Latin and/or Greek and head a department of three-to-four other classics teachers. We are hoping to find a committed and sincere educator with a positive personality and solid credentials. An advanced degree in the Classics is required. Previous experience as a Classics department head is desirable but not mandatory. We are seeking candidates for the 2009-10 Academic Year.
All incoming 9th graders study Latin for at least one year, a graduation requirement.

Development Officer
The Development Officer has primary responsibility for overseeing the School's outreach to its younger alumni for purposes of fundraising and friend-raising. The Development Officer is a member of the team responsible for the planning and execution of a highly aggressive Annual Fund program. In addition to Annual Fund responsibilities, duties include supporting the major gift team through foundation and prospect research and proposal preparation. The position reports to the Director of the Annual Fund.
The ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal and communications skills; a sense of ease in working with volunteers and an ability to work closely with a varied constituent base (alumni, parents, friends, and faculty/staff); a high degree of comfort with technology; and an eagerness to engage with the School's constituents and actively participate in boarding school life. Specific knowledge about Portsmouth Abbey and its mission preferred.
