Assistant Athletic Director

Portsmouth Abbey School seeks an Assistant Athletic Director to begin July 2007. The position reports to the Athletic Director.  The Assistant Athletic Director will coach two seasons of girls' athletics, teach two sections of a course, serve as one of three houseparents in a girls' dorm, and perform the other duties required of all faculty in a boarding school.  Duties of the position include assisting the Athletic Director with the overall operation of the athletic program, coordinating weekly logistics for athletic contests, and maintaining good communications both internally and through the school website.

Portsmouth Abbey School is recognized as the premier independent Catholic boarding school in the nation. Admission to Portsmouth is selective and the school is fully enrolled with 350 boys and girls. The magnificent campus is ideally situated on the shores of Narragansett Bay, 15 minutes from Newport, RI. Portsmouth is conducted under the auspices of the English Benedictine Congregation and governed by a Board of Regents. All faculty are expected to participate fully in the life of the School.
