The three students are among approximately 34,000 high-performing 12th graders across the country who are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  The Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2009 competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The names of all Commended Students were recently announced in Evanston, Ill., by officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
