Don't Miss Abbey Players' "Taming of the Shrew" This Weekend!
November 6, 2008

Shakespeare returns to Portsmouth this weekend, as the Abbey Players present The Taming of the Shrew.  In this romantic comedy, one of Shakespeare's earlier works, no one is allowed to marry the fair Bianca before her shrewish sister Kate, "the curst," is married.  The search is on to find a man willing to "tame" her.  Thus, the battle of the sexes begins. This popular Shakespeare classic has been adapted countless times for musical theater, stage, screen and opera.

Directed for Portsmouth by Mr. Jay Bragan, performing arts department head, the School performance will be Friday, November 7, at 7:00 pm.  Remaining performances are scheduled for Saturday, November 8, at 7:30 pm and Sunday, November 9, at 2:00 pm.
