Dear Friends,

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton and United Nations
Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon visited the HELP center on
March 9th during a two day visit to Haiti.  After touring the center and speaking with a group of HELP students and graduates, both Clinton and Ki-Moon said they were impressed and inspired by what they saw at HELP and pledged to remain engaged.

In an interview with the BBC on the front steps of the HELP center (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7934068.stm), President Clinton said that HELP is one of the programs that show that success is possible in Haiti.  Clinton told HELP's students that he was inspired by their struggles, saying "you have been empowered by your education.  The resources of wealth in this country are the mind and the heart.''

It is HELP's remarkable success over the years that made this visit possible and we would never have achieved that success without your support. Just as all of our supporters are an essential part of the HELP success story, you are also essential to keeping HELP going.

HELP has not been immune to the global economic slide--now more than ever we need your assistance. I am confident that this visit will generate more resources for HELP in the long term, enabling us to sponsor more students and produce more success stories that will impress anyone who visits the HELP center. However this will take time, and in the meantime, we sincerely hope we can count on your continued support. Please consider making a donation today.

Many thanks,

Conor
