**** Registration Day Information (Please Review) *****


o  Check-in
(12:30-4:00 p.m.) on Saturday, Sept. 12, with the Admissions and Student Life Staff at the the Cortazzo Administration Building, receive PAS registration folder and hand in outstanding Car Privileges and Statement of Understanding forms.  (Day students arrive at 3:00 p.m.)

o  The PAS Registration Folder
:  Contains more Orientation information.  The label on the folder lists your child's House assignment, Orientation Group number and Advisor's name.  During the School year, students will meet with their Advisor every Tuesday morning, 10:15-10:30 a.m.  
             -  Nametags will be enclosed for parents and students
                Students are asked to wear nametags on Saturday and Sunday
                as well as the first 2 days of classes.

o  International Student Advisor:  Consider volunteering to be a host family for an international student.  Dr. Zilian will meet with all international families on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in the Conference Room in the Administration Building.

o  Medical Services:  The School Nurses will be present to collect outstanding medical forms and medications (students may not have prescription medication in their possession).  Medical forms are available in the Parent Community section of our website; click on "forms."  When you arrive, a label on the front of your registration folder may indicate that your medical file is complete; if so, you may skip the line for the Medical Services staff.

o  Business Office:  Representatives from the Business Office will be available to set-up your child's tin-box or student bank account, collect tuition payments, answer questions regarding the expense account, bookstore charges, etc.

o  E & R Cleaning Service:  Boarders may sign-up for service and receive your laundry bag and instructions.  (www.EandRCleaners.com   Portsmouth Abbey School Code: CE56).  Already signed-up?....great; just pick-up your laundry bag.
 
o  Mailbox Combination:  See the School Receptionist, Pauline St. Denis, for your combination.  A Red Key volunteer will be happy to help you learn to open your mailbox.  The student's copy of the Student Handbook, as well as a copy of the Weekly Calendar, will be in your mailbox. 

o  Text Books:  Mrs. Arruda and student volunteers will be on hand in the Auditorium Foyer to give you your books.  If you already have a book, do not accept a new copy.  Once your name is written in the book, it cannot be returned as new.  

o  Check-In at your House:  Red Key representatives will meet you at your House, where you will meet your Houseparents, receive your room assignment, and move in.  

o  New Student Cookout:  At 4:45 p.m. the students will assemble with school prefects and staff members outside the Administration Building.  Boarding parents, say your goodbyes now.  New students will have a cookout at the Green Animals Topiary Gardens.  Day students will be available for pick-up at the Administration Building at 7:00pm. 

o  New Parent / Faculty Program and Barbeque:  At 4:45 p.m., parents will assemble in the Dining Hall to hear brief presentations by members of the School administration followed by a casual barbeque.  You will have the opportunity to meet your child's Advisor and ask questions of the administration.  RSVP to the Admissions Office at 401-643-1248 or amotta@portsmouthabbey.org - seating is limited.
