Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey Goalie Ally Tessier '13 Named League MVP
March 4, 2013

Sixth Former Allyson Tessier has been named the MVP of the Eastern Independent League (EIL) in girls' ice hockey.

Tessier, from Coventry, RI, and captain of the 2012-13 Ravens' team, was a standout in goal this season, leading the Abbey squad to a 7-2-2 EIL (8-8-2 overall) record with an impressive .965 EIL save percentage on 417 saves and a 1.36 Goals Against average.  Her overall save percentage of .944, on 805 saves, was also noteworthy. She recorded five shut-outs on the season. The EIL consists of 11 independent boarding and day schools in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine.

Ravens' Head Girls' Ice Hockey Coach Kate Reardon said of her goalie:  "Ally is a true student-athlete and a respected leader on our team.  Her passion and dedication to the sport, both on and off the ice, is remarkable.  Knowing Ally is in goal gives our front lines and defenders the confidence to go out and play better hockey. She's the type of player every coach hopes to have on their team."

Congratulations, Ally!
