Along with providing for the stewardship of Portsmouth Abbey's physical plant, capital gifts are a catalyst for the growth of Portsmouth's permanent endowment. Contributions to the ENDOWMENT FUND help support student financial aid and scholarships and strengthen our ability to attract and retain quality faculty members.
The Monastic and School community are grateful to the many individuals, families and organizations who through their generosity support scholarships, faculty, academic and extracurricular programs, as well as the Benedictine community. Endowment funds play a major role in helping the school fulfill its mission. Between July 1, 1998, and June 30, 2004, Portsmouth Abbey's endowment has increased by over $13 million. The combination of new capital gifts and investment appreciation has translated into tremendous opportunities for members of the Portsmouth Abbey community. Currently, over 100 funds are established, covering a wide range of areas.
