Every gift, large or small, unrestricted or restricted, is important to Portsmouth Abbey.  There are many ways of supporting the School's people and programs. Careful planning can help maximize the advantages to both the donor and the School.  A range of some of the methods that may be used to give include:

Cash
The majority of gifts received by Portsmouth Abbey are outright cash contributions. Cash gifts can be made by check or credit card. Checks should be made out to Portsmouth Abbey School and sent to:

Credit Card
Portsmouth Abbey accepts credit card donations made with MasterCard, Visa or American Express. Our secure online server is the quickest and easiest means of making a gift to Portsmouth Abbey. A confirmation will be emailed immediately once the credit card information has been submitted. Donors can make online gifts by going to www.portsmouthabbey.org/makeagift.

Recurring Credit Card Gifts
Donors also have the option of making monthly gifts. Instead of making a onetime, larger gift, donors have the opportunity to make regular and affordable gifts to Portsmouth Abbey over time. Visit www.portsmouthabbey.org/makeagift and tell us a donation amount and how often you would like to make a gift. It will then be automatically deducted from your credit card on the 15th of every month. With recurring gifts, your regular contributions add up over time making a lasting impact on Portsmouth Abbey. Donors can also give to Portsmouth Abbey through their PayPal account using a credit card, debit card, or bank account. This is an easy way to give to Portsmouth Abbey through the safe PayPal system and you are not charged a fee for transferring funds. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can create one at www.paypal.com.

Stock certificates must have a Medallion Signature Guarantee on them.  Certificates can also be brought to your local Bank of America branch and they will execute a Stock Power Form.  Stock Certificates should be delivered via express mail to:

Matching Gifts
Many gifts to Portsmouth Abbey are doubled, or even tripled, because corporations and foundations match gifts made by their employees, retirees and directors.  Typically, Portsmouth Abbey receives over $50,000 each year because our donors took the extra steps necessary to maximize their gifts by obtaining a matching gift form from a corporation or foundation with which they are affiliated.

If you or your spouses are affiliated with an organization that will match gifts to private secondary schools, please forward the matching gift form along with your gift to Portsmouth Abbey.  If making your gift online, send the form separately by mail.  Please check with your personnel office to obtain a matching gift form.

Other Assets
