League/Schedule
Portsmouth Abbey School Football is a member of the prestigious Evergreen Football Conference, which is composed of 12 New England schools divided into 2 leagues. The Abbey competes in the Southern League, which is composed of Vermont Academy, New Hampton, Hyde (CT), Hyde (ME), Hebron Academy, Kents Hill School and Dexter School.
Coaching Philosophy
The football program at Portsmouth Abbey encourages students to reach their potential in the classroom and on the football field. Practices stress the fundamentals of winning football: blocking, tackling, ball security and conditioning. Each summer many new and returning members of the team attend the Dartmouth Football Camp for one week. Portsmouth Abbey encourages its students to be multi-sport athletes. In 2010, the team finished 5-3 and was selected for the Evergreen League Sportsmanship Award.
