League/Schedule
Portsmouth Abbey is a member of the Eastern Independent League (EIL). The EIL provides Portsmouth Abbey student-athletes the opportunity for rigorous competition with schools of similar size and athletic philosophy. EIL member schools include Bancroft School, Beaver Country Day, Berwick Academy, Concord Academy, Dana Hall School, Landmark School, Lexington Christian, Newton Country Day, Pingree School and Winsor School. We also compete against traditional rivals St. George's and Tabor Academy. The team finished the 2010 season with an overal record of 8-8-3, and they were 8-5 in the EIL.
Coaching Philosophy
The soccer program at Portsmouth Abbey School encourages students to reach their potential in the classroom and on the soccer pitch. Players are challenged to be fundamentally sound, to develop their individual and tactical skills as team players, to be mentally tough, to improve their strength and fitness, and to play with great enthusiasm. A 3,000-square foot state-of-the-art fitness center opened in the spring of 2004, and provides the soccer program, and all Portsmouth Abbey School student-athletes, with a top-flight facility to improve strength and fitness.
Contact
