Music at the Portsmouth Abbey School is a highly varied and multi-facted program. Our Music Director, Troy Quinn, is an international performer of voice and conducting and is an accomplished music educator througout colleges and high schools in the Northeast Region.  Our music program offers students the chance to engage in one-on-one private lessons with experienced teachers as well as the opportunity to partake in one of our many ensembles:  Pro Deo, our talented orchestra; Abbey Singers, our co-ed chorus; or our Chamber Ensemble, which focuses on smaller, classical works.

One of the many benefits our music students receive is working with highly skilled and professional musicians during our choral and orchestral collaborations.  Musicians from the Rhode Island Philharmonic, and the United States Coast Guard and Naval Bands, are regular guest collaborators and teachers at the Abbey.  Students at Portsmouth Abbey also have the unique opportunity during our annual winter musical to be accompanied by a professional orchestra.  Singers and intrumentalists will find a wealth of experience and rewarding music-making here at the Abbey.
