Squash Camp Announced for Summer 2010

Portsmouth Abbey School Junior Squash Camp
When:  July 12-16, 2010

For:  Boys and Girls ages 10-15
Day Camp Hours:  9:00 am - 3:00 pm (lunch provided)
Camp Fees:  $475.00 per week  (Full payment due by June 15th to ensure enrollment.)

The Portsmouth Abbey Squash Camp, in its fifth year, is for boys and girls 10-to-15 years of age who are seeking a fun day camp environment in which to build a solid foundation in squash skills.  The camp targets the development and promotion of youth squash in the greater Providence and East Bay (RI) area.  Michael Riley will again be heading up the 2010 camp.  Mike's relaxed attitude coupled with his extensive technical knowledge gives players an opportunity to learn from the best while being in a fun atmosphere.  Rafael Alarcon and a full staff of NCAA collegiate level players will join Mike to add more top expertise to this program.  The elite caliber of coach and low player-to-coach ratio continues to make this one of the best teaching camps for 2010.

The camp is sponsored by Harrow, makers of high-performance athletic gear and equipment.

The Portsmouth Abbey Squash Camp will be coached by:

Mike Riley - Squash Pro Mike Riley has been one of the top-ranked players in his age grop for more than 16 years.  He is currently the Head Squash Professional at Rhode Island Country Club and a World Squash Federation World Referee.  Mike has coached at numerous camps and clinics, including the prestigious Talbott Squash Academy.

Rafael Alarcon - Rafael is the reigning Brazilian Open Squash Champion  and a 10-time winner of the event. He has won both the South American Open and the Tour de las Americas. He is currently ranked 44th in the PSA rankings and has been ranked as high as 36th.  Rafael currently coaches and trains in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and is a member of the South American National Team that will compete in the Pan-American Games this year.

Additional coaching staff will consist of NCAA college-level players.
