The varsity football team finished the season with a victory over rival Pomfret School on Saturday by a score of 20-7.

The Abbey opened up the scoring on their first drive with a 25 yard run by Ryan Silva. Evan Silvia kicked the PAT . Pomfret came back with a long drive in the second period and tied the at the half  score 7-7.

The Abbey offensive and defensive lines played better in the second half, shutting down the Pomfret Tri I run game and establishing the inside run game for the Abbey offense.

QB Joe Mitchell scored on a 5-yard bootleg and Ryan Silva scored on a 4-yard run in the 3^rd and 4^th periods to extend the lead.  Dave Garvey and Jean LeComte all picked up rushing yardage behind the Abbey Line.

Ryan Silva finished with 232 yards on 25 carries and 2 TDS.

Shane McComiskey, Luke Gleason, Dan Flanigan, Felipe Vicini, Brett Kroll, Parker Barry and Brendan Buckley played well on the Line.

Linebackers Adam Hobbins, Bobbie Skolsky, Spencer Lambrecht, Ryan Silva and Dave Garvey contained the Pomfret runners and defensive backs  Ryan Andrews, Ben Theriault, and Nick Albertson defended the pass well.

The Ravens finished 6-2 in second place.
