As my wife, Deb, and I begin our 37th year at Portsmouth, with the same enthusiasm (but with much more experience) that we had on our first day in 1973, the joy of sharing this community with our wonderful young people and with the School's lay and monastic faculty grows deeper every year.  Indeed, the community and spiritual qualities that define Portsmouth are truly enduring - as we boldly state in our Mission Statement and ensure with our new Strategic Plan.

As you browse through our web site, I hope you will get a sense of our beautiful location and great facilities - especially our Squash/Fitness Center, Fine Arts Center, and our stunning girls' dormitory, St. Brigid's - and of our rich academic, athletic and extra-curricular offerings.  I also hope that you might begin to understand the richness of Portsmouth as a community of students (boys and girls) and adults (monastic and lay men and women) who live, work and grow together.  To begin to appreciate the Portsmouth Abbey and School community, one needs to visit our campus.  I try to meet as many visitors as possible while they are here, and I know from my many years of experience at Portsmouth that once a family visits the campus, there is a high probability they will return.

Enjoy your tour of our Web site and I look forward to seeing you on campus sometime soon.
