Tuition for students for the 2011-2012 academic year is:

$46,650 Boarding

$31,750 Day

Payments are due 60% by July 1 and 40% by December 1.  For families who wish to extend tuition payments over a period of time, there are monthly tuition payment plans.  Information about these plans is available from the Office of Admission and from Tuition Management System at www.afford.com.  Parents should plan on approximately $1,500 of additional costs for books, fees, and School-sponsored trips.  There is also an additional fee of $875 for international students.

Families who anticipate needing financial aid at any time during their child's career at Portsmouth Abbey should apply for aid at the time of the admission application. Eligibility for Portsmouth Abbey School grants is based on demonstrated financial need, academic merit and availability of financial aid funds.  These funds are derived from income generated by gifts and bequests made specifically for this purpose, as well as from the operating income.  This year 36% of our students were awarded $3,200,000 in some form of financial aid.

To apply for need based financial aid the following must be submitted to School and Student Services (SSS) by NAIS no later than January 31st:

•Parents' Financial Statement (PFS).  You are encouraged to complete the PFS online at sss.nais.org to speed processing time.  Paper forms are available by request from the financial aid office, 401-643-1279.
