Portsmouth Abbey School has recognized the special nature of parents' contributions by naming the parent portion of the Annual Fund as the Parent Fund.  The School's Parent Fund is used to provide unrestricted support for current operations. Currently, the total Annual Fund which includes gifts from Alumni, Past Parents and Friends, contributes approximately 8% of the School's operating budget. The stronger the Annual Fund, the better equipped the school is to provide a superior educational environment for our students. Parent Fund gifts have a direct impact on the everyday lives of students and are used in a variety of ways: providing financial aid, increased student activities, state of the art technology, support for athletic programs and the arts, and so much more.

A message from Tim '74 and Kathy Cunningham P '08 '09 '11 '14, Co-Chairs Parents' Committee:
"The Parent Fund supports the portion of a Portsmouth Abbey education that tuition does not cover, even for those who are paying full tuition, the tuition only covers about 75 percent of what it takes to run the School for our children.  Parent Fund dollars help to pay for everything from mini-buses that are used to transport our children to class fieldtrips, athletic competitions, and community service opportunities; to chalk that is used in the classrooms; and the meals that they eat in the dining hall.  It is a vital piece of the School's operating budget and provides crucial dollars to necessary items such as financial aid, funding for school activities, support for athletic programs, the arts programs, faculty salaries, and much more. Remember the Three P's, Portsmouth + Parents + Participation = Success for our Students!"
