Lauren Revay Named Assistant Director of Spiritual Life and Program Director for Portsmouth Institute

Head of School Matthew Walter recently announced the appointment of Lauren Revay to the combined role of Assistant Director of Spiritual Life for Portsmouth Abbey School and Program Director for the Portsmouth Institute.

Revay officially joined the Portsmouth Abbey Community on November 29 and will assist Abbot Michael Brunner, O.S.B., with Confirmation, Lectio Divina, and campus ministry. As a member of the Portsmouth Institute team, she will report to the Executive Director of the Institute, Chris Fisher, and assist with the planning and execution of events throughout the year.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lauren in her new role and as an affiliate houseparent in St. Brigid’s. She brings with her a variety of experiences that will undoubtedly enkindle and enlighten the faith formation and spiritual life of our students,” said Walter. A competitive pole vaulter in both high school and college, Revay will also coach the Ravens in pole vaulting.

A Catholic University of America graduate, Revay earned an undergraduate degree in philosophy in 2020 and a Master of Arts in Theology from the University of Notre Dame in 2022. At Notre Dame, she participated in the Echo graduate service program and the McGrath Institute for Church Life. As part of her work with Echo, she apprenticed in the Office of Faith Formation at St. Mary of the Expectation parish in Houston, Texas, where she focused on Confirmation preparation for adolescents, young adult ministry, and the women’s study group. More recently, she served as a post-graduate academic fellow at the John Jay Institute in Pennsylvania.

Revay is excited to begin her work within the Portsmouth Abbey community. “I was impressed by both the mission and the work of the Portsmouth Institute and the school. I found so much that resonated within my heart, and I knew this was where I was supposed to be.”
