Message from the Chairs

Dear Abbey Families,

We are looking forward to seeing many of you at Parents' Weekend October 27, 28 & 29.   The weekend will commence with a reception for parents and faculty on Thursday evening. Throughout the weekend there are opportunities to attend class with your child, speak with your child's teachers during parent teacher conferences and cheer from the sidelines during athletic competitions.  There are many more activities including a Performing Arts Showcase, an event hosted by our Korean parents, and college counseling seminars.  The weekend concludes with Mass at 5pm on Saturday.  A complete schedule for the weekend is posted below.

Parent Participation Month commenced October 15 and will run to November 15 and celebrates the important role of parent support of the Annual Fund.  Parent Participation Month provides families the opportunity to have a direct impact on the Abbey experience through support of the Annual Fund.  The Annual fund is used each year to enrich the lives of our children and directly benefits all Portsmouth Abbey students.  Portsmouth Abbey relies heavily on philanthropic support to enhance the School's greatest priorities such as scholarships, academic enhancements, athletics and extracurricular activities, and faculty resources.

Our goal is to reach a minimum of 60% participation by November 15 and 100% participation before the end of our fiscal year on June 30. We hope you will consider making a gift to help us achieve both of these goals. As a special challenge during Parent Participation Month, the Parents' Association leadership will contribute an additional $15,000 to the Annual Fund if parents reach 60% participation or higher by November 15!

Over our years as Abbey parents, we have been impressed by the way our full community comes together with their generous support.  What a testament to the depth of the connection that exists throughout our Abbey community and to the value we place on a Portsmouth Abbey education. We are immensely grateful for all you do to make the blessing of the Abbey experience possible.

Again, we look forward to seeing many of you at Parents' Weekend.

Warmest regards,

Frank & Rhonda Landers
