Land Art Project. Over the past 4 weeks, students in Fundamentals of Art have been researching and sketching ideas for their Land Art Projects. Each student was asked to create a sculpture with inspiration from artists, Andy Goldsworthy, Robert Smithson and other land artists. Students were asked to think about this time we live in, how quarantine restrictions can play a role in art, and how they can use unconventional art materials to create something unique. Topics included; capturing global warming, creating Zen spaces, interacting with natural elements and recycled pieces, ideas of creation/destruction, balance, pattern, personal space, the list goes on.
