Manquehue Presents: Lectio Divina Seminars
Lectio Divina

The Abbey's two guests who arrived in January of this year from the Manquehue Apostolic Movement, Álvaro Gazmuri and Catalina Quiroga, have extended a special invitation to the Portsmouth Abbey community and guests: a Lectio Divina Seminar of two sessions.

Lectio Divina is an old Benedictine tradition that consists of reading the Holy Scripture in a prayerful way. It is a way to encounter Christ Risen, through scripture, that speaks to us in his Word - a connection that both Álvaro and Cata have experienced and learned in Manquehue (Chile), and wish to share with the greater community.

The two-part seminars are open to all who wish to attend - from the devout believer to the curious explorer. To attend the first series, you can choose Tuesday, November 27, or Thursday, November 29 from 8:00-9:00 PM. To attend the second series, the choice is either Tuesday, December 4 or Thursday, December 6 at the same time. The sessions are split in this way so those interested can have more options to attend.

Each session will have a theoretical part along with an experiential part. Although it is a personal experience, no one will be asked to share personal thoughts. The focus is solely on an encounter with God through the Word.

Interested parties are asked to email Manquehue and specify the dates and number of people attending.
