The Abbey's two guests who arrived in January of this year from the Manquehue Apostolic Movement, Álvaro Gazmuri and Catalina Quiroga, have extended a special invitation to the Portsmouth Abbey community and guests: a Lectio Divina Seminar of two sessions.
Lectio Divina is an old Benedictine tradition that consists of reading the Holy Scripture in a prayerful way. It is a way to encounter Christ Risen, through scripture, that speaks to us in his Word - a connection that both Álvaro and Cata have experienced and learned in Manquehue (Chile), and wish to share with the greater community.
Each session will have a theoretical part along with an experiential part. Although it is a personal experience, no one will be asked to share personal thoughts. The focus is solely on an encounter with God through the Word.
