What are the faculty reading this summer?

By Dr. Katie Zins '04

This year the School Committee decided that the faculty reader would be a contemporary book that comes from our student curriculum. We hoped this choice would be an enjoyable discussion and read and source of interesting offer faculty a (perhaps less familiar) part of our student experience.

The School Committee chose three books for the faculty to vote on: Christopher Beha’s The Index of Self-Destructive Acts (read in Dan McQuillan’s final Sixth Form English class), Eula Bliss’ On Immunity (used in Head of the Science Department Steve Zins’ Infectious Disease class), and Phil Klay’s Missionaries (currently on the sixth-form summer reading list). The winner was The Index of Self-Destructive Acts, which McQuillan described as “King Lear meets baseball meets data analytics.”
