27 March 2020
As the School moves to distance learning at least through April 10, our faculty are prepared for the start of school on Monday, March 30. Teachers have spent this week pivoting to Zoom for delivering the classroom experience, and there is excitement in learning something new and collaborating with each other, which I am sure will be sensed by your children too.
This afternoon, Director of Studies Nick Micheletti will be sending the students a letter and video to prepare and guide them through this new learning experience. Director of Parent Relations Meghan Fonts will forward that communication to you as well. Other messages will follow to the students from the Dean of Faculty Kale Zelden and their individual teachers.
I encourage you to use the resources that Nick provides in his message and to also monitor the Parent Portal for updates from Meghan. As always, do not hesitate to contact me directly.
I mention in the video to your children that if this had happened to any of us while we were in high school, we likely would have lost a trimester. (I didn’t mention that we almost certainly would have lost our summer too in order to make up the work!) We are glad that we are able to give them some sense of normal life in a very uncertain time. We’re grateful for your support as we explore new territory together.
As my letter to you on March 13 indicated, I plan on communicating with you on or before April 6 with an update on our first week of distance learning and plans for the remainder of the term.
With warm regards,
