WINTER 2020-21 GAME DAY PROTOCOLS
The Abbey weekly contest schedule will include the protocols of the host school for away games. It is possible that unvaccinated Abbey participants or spectators may not be able travel to opposing schools or may have to PCR test and/or rapid test as determined by the host school.
Abbey students and visiting teams must provide their own water bottles.
Limited visiting team locker-room space is available. Visiting schools should coordinate with the Abbey Athletics Dept. (401-643-1284) to check on availability. Masks must be worn.
MASKS
Masks must be worn indoors by Abbey and visiting participants and spectators in all Abbey athletic facilities. This includes the gyms, Squash and Fitness Center, equipment room, locker rooms and training room. Abbey athletes and coaches are required to wear masks when traveling to away games.
SPECTATORS AT THE ABBEY
Abbey and visiting spectators are permitted at the Abbey and must wear masks in all indoor athletic facilities
ABBEY SPECTATORS AT VISITING SCHOOLS
Some opposing schools will require that only vaccinated spectators may attend. This will be noted on the weekly schedule.
ABBEY WRESTLING
Unvaccinated wrestlers must PCR test each week within 24-48 hours of competing, and all wrestlers (vaccinated and unvaccinated) will be required to have a rapid test on match day.
Masks do not need to be worn during EIL interscholastic matches by vaccinated students who have a negative rapid test on the day of a match.
Unvaccinated wrestlers may not compete in wrestling against any ISL schools. This is an ISL league-wide policy for this winter. Masks must be worn by unvaccinated athletes when wrestling in practice and matches.
Wrestlers must drill and practice within a weight class pod of 2-3 wrestlers. Masks must be worn at all times during practice and matches when not involved in actual wrestling competition.
All wrestling practices and matches will be in the lower gym.
