Ireland and England Tour
The Abbey Arts Tour is an 11-day, 10-night exploration of Ireland and England’s rich cultural history, as told through the literary, performing, visual, and culinary arts. Highlights in Ireland include a day in Dublin, following in the footsteps of James Joyce, a visit to the Long Library at Trinity College to see the Book of Kells, a watercolor workshop at the stunning Cliffs of Moher, and a visit to Galway for experiences in traditional music, storytelling, and dance. In London, our adventures include a tour and performance at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, a concert by the famed London Symphony Orchestra, a West End show, a “secret food tour” of the city, visits to the Charles Dickens Museum, St. Martin’s in the Fields, The Tate Modern Museum, Leavesden Film Studios, and more. Along the way, students are encouraged to explore various methods of reflection and documentation. Leading up to the trip, cohort members will gather for dinners and conversations about Irish literature and Shakespeare’s London, as well as a hands-on photography workshop.
