2025–2026 Library Bookmark Contest Winners Announced
Artsits, left to right: Alex Wang '26, Jessleanna LeComte DaQuay '27, JJ Servidea '27, Ariana Li '27, Avery Wilkinson '27 and Sophia Wehrs '27.
This year’s Library Bookmark Contest drew one of the strongest collections of student submissions in recent memory, highlighting the exceptional imagination and craftsmanship of Portsmouth Abbey students. Such craftsmanship might make even the Rhode Island School of Design take notice. Each entry reflected the depth of artistic talent and thoughtful creativity flourishing within our School community.
Alex Wang ’26 earned top honors for his elegant design: a long, sinuous tree branch overlaid with a precisely drafted rendering of the School shield.
Our runners-up, Jessleanna LeComte DaQuay ’27 and JJ Servidea ’27, each brought a distinctive lens to their work. Jessleanna submitted a vibrant painting of the Church of St. Gregory the Great, transforming the familiar brown tones of the Abbey’s spiritual center into a kaleidoscope of color and reverence. JJ captured a timeless photograph of Manor House, viewing the School’s oldest and most storied building from a slightly removed perspective, close enough to feel its warmth, distant enough to appreciate its grandeur.
Honorable mentions were awarded to Ariana Li ’27, Avery Wilkinson ’27, and Sophia Wehrs ’27, whose works likewise showcased both technical skill and an eye for meaning.
Copies of all winning and recognized bookmarks are available in the Library. Stop by to collect one before they’re all gone!
