Twelve Portsmouth Abbey students recently competed at Boston University’s Model United Nations Conference (BOSMUN). Surrounded by some of the top young diplomats from across the country, our students rose to the challenge and took home some outstanding awards.

Competing in committees that tackled pressing global issues such as maternal and child health, international disarmament, and the development of India’s film industry, the team demonstrated preparation and collaboration.

One of the largest committees in BOSMUN history, our students truly excelled. Cece Finnegan ’27 and Adelino Vellis ’28 both earned the prestigious Outstanding Delegate award, one of the conference’s highest honors, recognizing leadership and diplomacy. In another committee, Candace Gittens ’29 received a Diplomatic Commendation for her strong performance.

These achievements continue a tradition of excellence for Portsmouth Abbey, which consistently ranks among the top 75 Model United Nations programs in the country. At a conference widely regarded as the premier high school MUN event in the world, our students once again demonstrated impressive skill and teamwork.

Congratulations to our delegates for representing Portsmouth Abbey with distinction and integrity!
