The legacy of this year’s Raven student-athletes will endure long after the final whistle, reflected in the hard work, resilience and successes from throughout the 2025-26 academic year. In his Commencement address to the Class of 2026, Head of School Matt Walter reflected on the many accomplishments they achieved over the past year alone.
In the fall, the girls’ varsity soccer team reached the NEPSAC tournament finals, while the girls’ varsity field hockey and boys’ varsity soccer teams qualified for the NEPSAC tournament.
On the ice, the girls’ varsity ice hockey team captured the EIL Regular Season Championship for the fourth year in a row, the EIL Tournament Championship and qualified for the small schools Elite Eight tournament.
On the courts, the boys’ varsity squash team won the NEPSAC Class E Championships and the girl’s varsity squash team was awarded the NEPSAC Sportsmanship Award.
Finally, the girl’s track and field team won the EIL Championship while breaking several long-standing records in the hurdles and relays.
Culminating the spring Raven Athletics season, Portsmouth Abbey School Director of Athletics Chris Milmoe announced Spring Sports Award recipients during an assembly on May 20. Raven athletes also received named awards during the School’s annual Prize Day on May 23, with awards presented by Abigail Hillebrecht, English and History Teacher, girls’ jv ice hockey coach and girls’ varsity lacrosse coach.
We take great pride in all our Raven athletes across the three athletic seasons. Their dedication, resilience, and achievements have left a lasting mark on the Abbey community. We are deeply grateful for the energy and spirit that each of our athletes has brought to their respective sports, and we look forward to all they will accomplish in the years ahead as members of the Portsmouth Abbey Athletics Program.
