We rely on the dedication and commitment of countless volunteers to further our mission of helping young men and women grow in knowledge and grace. Below are just a few of the ways you can become involved. If you are interested in any of the opportunities below, please contact Director of the Annual Fund Alexandra Karppinen at 401.643.1204.
Our Leadership Council is made up of a core group of alumni leaders committed to enhancing the relationship between alumni and the School. These leaders are selfless and proactive in serving Portsmouth Abbey School and its objectives, have a consistent giving history, and help to engage alumni through networking events and other strategic initiatives.
Class Agents serve as the liaison between their class and the School, and head individual Annual Fund efforts for their class. They are committed to establishing and enhancing the relationship between class members and the School by securing updated contact information from classmates, promoting communications, and educating peers on the importance of Annual Fund participation.
The Alumni Leadership Council launched the Networking Series in 2018 with the goal of creating a strong community of Ravens committed to establishing professional relationships amongst each other. Networking volunteers may choose to serve as a guest speaker or on a panel at an event, serve as a mentor for young alumni, or host a networking event in their area.
Reunion Committee volunteers partner with the Office of Development and Alumni Relations to plan and execute milestone reunions. They help generate excitement for Reunion Weekend through regular communications. They plan the class's Friday night dinner and work together to achieve a class fundraising goal for the Annual Fund.
Parent volunteers are vital to maintaining a strong Abbey community. Parents can volunteer in a number of ways through on campus events such as Parents' Weekend and Family Day. In addition, parent volunteers can serve as hosts at regional receptions or work with the Office of Admission.
